The work of Comme des Garçon designer Rei Kawakubo is on display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in the "Art of the In-Between" exhibit. The exhibition includes approximately 140 works dating from the early 1980s and includes few images of her collaboration in Cunningham's "Scenario" (1997). info

Robert Rauschenberg
Charles Atlas, longtime film collaborator with Merce, worked with the curatorial and design team at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) to present "Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends." The exhibit presents a 21st-century retrospective of the artist including over 250 works across mediums from his six-decade career. info

Second Hand (1970)
As part of the ongoing Cunningham Fellowship Program, 2017 Fellow Andrea Weber (MCDC 2004 - 2011) and assistant Erin Dowd (MCT Workshop Dancer) will reconstruct "Second Hand" (1970) on a select group of dancers for two weeks. The final showings will be on Friday, September 1st at 3:00pm and 4:30pm at Baryshnikov Arts Center. The 4:30pm showing will be live-streamed here. Email rsvp@mercecunningham.org for reservations.

Dance among Friends: Robert Rauschenberg's Collaborations
As part of the current exhibition "Robert Rauschenberg: Among Friends" at the Museum of Modern Art, there will be a performance program that will unite Rauschenberg's collaborations with choreograhers Trisha Brown, Merce Cunningham, and Paul Taylor. Former company member Silas Riener will perform "Changeling", and company members Dylan Crossman, Daniel Madoff and Melissa Toogood will perform excerpts from "Antic Meet" and "Travelogue". The program will take place in the Sculpture Garden on September 6 at 11:30am and 3:30pm with a rain date on September 7. info

The CCN - Ballet de Lorraine will perform "Sounddance" (1975) as part their program at the Bolshoi Theatre on December 1. "Sounddance" was reconstructed by Meg Harper (MCDC 1968 - 1977) and CCN - Ballet de Lorraine rehearsal director Thomas Caley (MCDC 1993 - 2000). David Tudor’s powerful score for "Sounddance" provides an energetic accompaniment to Cunningham’s fast pace choreography. Mark Lancaster designed the original costumes. info
