Scenario (1997)
The Denver Art Museum will feature a three minute video clip of "Scenerio" performed by the Ballett am Rhein in 2014 in their forthcoming costume exhibition. For this dance Merce Cunningham used costumes designed by Rei Kawakubo (Comme des Garcons), one of the designers who is being featured in a future DAM costume exhibition. The exhibit takes place for eight months from Sept 2016 through May 2017.

WAC Cunningham Event I & II
The Walker Art Center will present "WAC Cunningham Event I & II" on February 8-9 and March 28-29, 2017 as part of their exhibition "Merce Cunningham: Common Time," a retrospective of Cunningham's collaborations in the fields of art and dance which runs from February 8 - September 10, 2017. "Event I & II" will be staged by Andrea Weber and performed by Silas Riener, Dylan Crossman, Jamie Scott and Melissa Toogood, all former Cunningham dancers. This exhibition is co-curated by Philip Bither and Fionn Meade. info

Summerspace (1958)
Merce Cunningham's "Summerspace" will be performed by the Lyon Opera Ballet as part of the Paul Taylor's American Modern Dance program at Lincoln Center on March 16 -25, 2017. The piece was staged by Banu Ogan (MCDC 1993-2000). Sets and costumes for "Summerspace" are by Robert Rauschenberg, music by Morton Feldman.

How To Pass, Kick, Fall & Run (1965), Place (1966), Inlets 2 (1983)
Compagnie CNDC (Le Centre National de Danse Contemporaine) - Angers, France will perform "How To Pass, Kick, Fall & Run (1965)," " Place (1966)," "Inlets 2 (1983)" - an all Cunningham concert at the Joyce Theater April 4-9, 2017. The dances will be staged by Artistic Director Robert Swinston (MCDC 1980 - 2011).

Walkaround Time (1968)
The Opera National de Paris will premiere "Walkaround Time" (1968) on April 15, 2017 at the Palais Garnier in Paris, France. The piece will be staged by Cunningham Fellows,Jennifer Goggans (MCDC 2000-2011) and Meg Harper (MCDC 1968-1977). The title for "Walkaround Time" came from Cunningham’s fascination with computers and technology. When asked about his inspiration for the piece he said, “You feed the computer information, then you have to wait while it digests. The decor for "Walkaround Time" was created by Jasper Johns after the Marcel Duchamp work, "The Large Glass." David Behrman composed the music, and Jasper Johns designed the costumes. info

How To Pass, Kick, Fall & Run (1965)
The dance division of the Boston Conservatory will premiere "How To Pass, Kick, Fall & Run" on April 27 - 30, 2017. The piece will be staged by Andrea Weber (MCDC 2004-2011). First performed before the unadorned back wall of the stage at the Harper Theater in Chicago, in 1965, "How to Pass, Kick, Fall and Run" has an athletic theme, without any specific references to games. The music is by John Cage, and included stories from "Silence", "A Year from Monday".
