2016 Cunningham Fellows Julie Cunningham (MCDC 2004 - 2011) and Daniel Squire (MCDC 1998 - 2009) are reconstructing Fluid Canvas for young professionals and students from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, and Central School of Ballet. The two-week workshop will culminate in a showing on Friday, April 8th at 7:30pm.

Fluid Canvas was a full company work for fifteen dancers. The piece incorporated simultaneous varied rhythms, rapid physical contact, and "walking on water" imagery. The decor by Shelley Eshkar, Paul Kaiser and Marc Downie was entitled Lifelike, and comprised motion capture projections of Cunningham from 1971. In addition there were projections of animals in motion, in homage to nineteenth-century photographer Eadweard Muybridge.
